Hot Off the Press: Lizards in an Evolutionary Tree

A lucky few attendees of Evolution 2009 were able to obtain an early copy of Jonathan Losos's new book Lizards in an Evolutionary Tree: Ecology and Adaptive Radiation of Anoles. The book is being printed overseas and won't be available to the general public for a few months, but UC Press had around 10 copies for sale at their booth here in Moscow. Although you might have to wait a bit, it looks like you can still get it for the 20% pre-order discount if you order today from the UC Press page.

The book is fantastic! Great information, gorgeous photos and it even cites two of my papers! Well worth the extra-baggage charge when I pack it in my suitcase to fly home.

Jealous! Just this morning I contacted UC Press since I had ordered it back in early June and their site had previously stated that this past Monday was the release date, and I received this message from them...

"Dustin,

This title was due in a month ago but to date we have not received our stock and are not quite sure what the hold-up is. They could very well be in transit to us but there no way for us to know when they will arrive.

Sorry to be so vague!
S."

Sounds like it's on a slow boat from China. :)
